Talk:Support:Installing Spicebird On GNU/Linux
From Spicebird
Original instructions as generic instructions
Thanks for the EeePC instructions. The original instructions were made on Debian and should be relevant for any distribution using GNOME. Perhaps we should classify them as generic instructions and write specific instructions for any distribution that has a different process. -- Sunil Mohan 00:21, 12 February 2009 (EST)
- That sounds fine, I don't use gnome (only MEPIS and EeePC). I will suggest that the basic installation might be able to be generic, but to add icons to menu or desktop might vary significantly by distro? EeePC Linux in easy mode is particularly unique. Maybe Have 3 (at least) complete installation instructions: Gnone distros, KDE distros like MEPIS; and EeePC Linux (which has a custom IceWM). I'm still figuring out an easy to explain way to add a spicebird icon to the EeePC Linux easy desktop- I'll add it when i can. Cheers----Chatan 08:36, 12 February 2009 (EST)
- I updated the title to indicate that the instructions are for GNOME. -- Sunil Mohan 08:48, 12 February 2009 (EST)
